Porphyrin
Porphyrins are a class of organic compounds characterized by a large macrocyclic conjugated structure, formed by four pyrrole subunits interconnected via methine bridges. In the biomedical field, they serve as key functional molecules acting as photosensitizers, fluorescent probes, and targeted therapeutic agents. Upon light excitation, porphyrins efficiently generate reactive oxygen species (ROS), enabling broad applications in photodynamic therapy (PDT) for targeted cancer cell destruction, antimicrobial and anti-infective treatments, as well as high-contrast bioimaging.
PurePEG offers a diverse portfolio of Porphyrin products, which can be combined with PEGylation Reagents, Cleavable Linkers, and Clickable Linkers to construct targeted porphyrin probes. These products are also suitable for drug discovery and diagnostic applications.
