STING Agonist

STING (Stimulator of Interferon Genes) is a pivotal innate immune receptor located in the cytosol. It acts as a sensor for aberrant cytosolic DNA, whether of microbial origin (e.g., from viruses or bacteria) or self-derived (e.g., from tumor cells). Upon activation, STING triggers the production of type I interferons and pro-inflammatory cytokines. STING agonists are compounds designed to activate this pathway, thereby potentiating anti-tumor immunity. This mechanism makes them promising agents in cancer immunotherapy, for treating infectious diseases, and as vaccine adjuvants.
