Polydisperse PEG
Polydisperse PEGs are polyethylene glycol polymers characterized by a range of molecular weights (e.g., 1K, 2K, 5K), forming mixtures of polymer chains with varied lengths. Representative products such as DSG-PEG-NH₂ and mPEG-DAPE exemplify this category, which is widely utilized in industrial and pharmaceutical applications—including drug solubilization, bioconjugation, and material modification—due to their cost efficiency and adjustable bulk properties. Although lacking the molecular precision of monodisperse PEGs, their scalability and functional versatility render them indispensable for large-scale processes where exact molecular uniformity is not critical.
