Diselenide Linkers

Diselenide linkers are a class of redox-responsive connectors characterized by dynamic Se-Se bonds. They enable targeted drug release by responding to biological triggers—primarily high concentrations of glutathione (GSH) and, distinctively, hydrogen peroxide (H₂O₂). Compared to traditional disulfide linkers, diselenide bonds exhibit superior sensitivity and faster cleavage kinetics in biological environments, which enhances their effectiveness in applications such as antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs), drug delivery systems, and self-healing hydrogels.

PurePEG’s Diselenide linkers (e.g., 2,2’-diselanediyldiacetic acid, di-tert-butyl 2,2’-diselanediyldiacetate) are designed for redox-sensitive systems, supporting research in targeted therapy and structural biology.
